Help & FAQ

The short version: you choose who sees your stuff, you look out for yourself at meetups, and lending a ladder shouldn't require a manual. Here's the rest.

Need an actual human?

Email help@getfocked.com. A real person reads it. We answer in plain English.

Who can see my stuff?

Seriously, who can see the things I list?

Only the people you pick. Every time you share an item, you choose the audience with a tap: My Friends · My Block · My Household · My Circles. That's it. Nothing on fock is public. There's no stranger scrolling a feed of your garage, and you're not broadcasting to the internet — you're handing a short list to the neighbors you chose.

What is "my block," exactly?

The neighbors inside a range you set — a slider that goes from "just my friends" up to about a mile. You decide how big your block is, you can change it whenever, and everything you've already shared quietly updates to your new size. Small block, small reach. Your call.

Do my friends automatically see everything I list?

Only what you let them. Friends are included by default when you share, but you can switch any single item off ("hide from friends") — handy for, say, regifting the thing a friend gave you. And friendships are mutual: you both have to agree. No one-way lurking.

What's a Circle?

A private group you create or join by invite — your church, your book club, your kid's soccer parents — people who matter to you but aren't necessarily on your block. You share to a Circle exactly like everything else: tap the chip. (Circles are rolling out — if you don't see them yet, they're on the way.)

Staying safe

If a meetup goes sideways, is fock going to swoop in?

No — and we're not going to pretend otherwise. fock connects neighbors; we are not part of the exchange, and meetups and hand-offs are at your own risk. So do the sensible-adult things: meet somewhere public, look the item over before you take it, and if something feels off, trust your gut and walk. You're in charge of you.

Are items checked or guaranteed?

Nope. Everything is "as is." We have not personally inspected anyone's drill, tent, or bread machine. Give it a once-over yourself before you rely on it.

How do I…

…invite a friend?

Open Invite & friends and either share your invite link, show your QR code for them to scan, or invite by phone number. If they're already on fock, we connect you. If they're not, we tee up a text with your invite.

…share something to just one group?

When you list an item, tap the chips under "Who should see this?" and pick any combination — just your block, just a circle, just friends, or a mix. Nothing goes out to anyone you didn't tap.

…change how big my block is?

Go to Profile → My Block and drag the slider. Everything you've shared updates to the new size automatically.

…delete my account?

In the app: Settings → Delete my account. Uninstalled already? See how to delete your account.

…my question isn't here?

Email help@getfocked.com. Still a real human.
